Tallinn, 15 September 2025.

The Baltic Press Publishers’ Collective Management Organisation (BPCMO) entered into a representation agreement with the biggest Latvian magazine publisher, i.e., SIA ŽURNĀLS SANTA. Founded in 1991, Žurnāls Santa is Latvia’s leading lifestyle and specialty publishing house, with more than 20 magazines and digital brands, including Santa, Ieva, Privātā Dzīve, Klubs, and others. The company’s magazines and portals reach hundreds of thousands of readers every month and more than 75,000 subscribers with trusted journalism, inspiring stories, and practical advice.

The BPCMO is a collective management organisation established in June last year by the largest news media publishers of Estonia, whose main activity is to hold negotiations with various media content users (such as Google, Microsoft, and Meta (Facebook)) for the licensing of media content, collect the licence fees payable by them on the basis of licence agreements and distribute the fees received among the publishers who have joined the BPCMO.

At the current moment, the BPCMO represents more than 95% of Estonian commercial news media publishers. The BPCMO is looking forward to welcoming other Estonian, Latvian, and Lithuanian news media publishers to join in the near future.

Through the BPCMO, news media publishers in Baltic states will be able to more quickly and easily enter into agreements for licensing their media content and significantly optimise transaction costs. The objective of the BPCMO is to promote the rights and interests of all news media publishers.
