Tallinn, 22 July 2026. The Baltic Press Publishers’ Collective Management Organisation (BPCMO) has expanded its representation in Latvia by signing representation agreements with JSC Latvijas Mediji, one of Latvia’s largest media and publishing companies, and Delfi AS, one of Latvia’s leading digital news portals.
JSC Latvijas Mediji is one of Latvia’s leading media companies, with operations covering news media, newspaper and magazine publishing, book publishing, and the creation of digital media content. The company publishes several well-known publications and operates news portals, providing readers with reliable daily information on politics, economics, culture, rural affairs, sports, and social issues. In addition, the company is one of the largest publishers of Latvian-language literature and consistently contributes to the development of Latvian culture, language, and high-quality journalism.
The Delfi.lv portal, owned by Delfi AS, is one of Latvia’s largest and most influential digital news portals and is part of the leading news media network in the Baltic region. The portal provides daily news, analyses, and opinion articles covering politics, economics, society, culture, technology, and sports, and is one of the most important digital news media channels in Latvia.
BPCMO brings together leading news media publishers from the Baltic countries and operates as a collective management organisation. Its mission is to represent publishers’ interests in negotiations with digital platforms, including Google, Microsoft, and Meta/Facebook, as well as to collect and distribute licensing fees for the use of news media content.
Currently, the organisation represents more than 95% of private news media publishers in Estonia, as well as several leading news media companies in Latvia and Lithuania. The addition of JSC Latvijas Mediji and Delfi AS to the publishers represented by BPCMO strengthens the organisation’s role in Latvia and enables it to more effectively promote and exercise the copyright and related rights of Baltic news media publishers.
BPCMO also welcomes other news media publishers from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania to join the organisation in order to strengthen collective representation and ensure better protection of the interests of news media across the region.
Through BPCMO, news media publishers can conclude content licensing agreements more quickly and efficiently while significantly reducing the costs associated with negotiations and transaction management. Collective representation strengthens publishers’ negotiating position with international technology companies and helps ensure fairer remuneration for the use of their created content in digital environments.
The objective of BPCMO is to protect and promote the rights and interests of all Baltic news media publishers. Unified collective representation provides publishers with greater control over their rights, helps ensure more transparent and fair remuneration for content used on digital platforms, and supports cross-border cooperation. This, in turn, strengthens the competitiveness of the entire Baltic news media sector.
The Baltic Press Publishers’ Collective Management Organisation (BPCMO) is a collective management organisation representing news media publishers from the Baltic countries.
